A leading global biopharmaceutical company is seeking a Supply Chain Manager for their Dublin based Pharmaceutical Distribution Center. Supporting the Distribution Centre Senior Manager to lead a team of 24 people in a fast-paced environment you will support and deploy the development of industry best practice procedures for optimizing the movement of product throughout the Distribution Centre.


The Role

  • People management - supervision of the Distribution Centre team to ensure that all customers (both internal and external) requirements are serviced in line with expectations. This will be achieved through the application of an empowering s of leadership which draws fully on resources and capabilities of the team coupled with a positive employee relations approach. Manage communications and periodic reviews with all staff members, ensuring all performance issues are dealt with in a constructive and prompt manner.
  • Facilitate open two-way communications regarding individual, team and company performance through weekly team meetings and daily interaction on the line. Execute the training program to ensure the direct team are supported regarding provision of training to enable a right first-time approach to all activities.
  • Interacting and liaising with the customer services teams locally and internationally to prioritize orders and to provide a best-in-class service.
  • Provide monthly KPI reports to management including causal analysis of unfavorable variances and corrective action plans as per strategic targets
  • Ensure GDP compliance is met by the transportation providers in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Through policy and procedure improvement/changes, develop inventory processes to minimize risk and improve compliance in the Distribution Centre in Line with GMP&GDP requirements.
  • Managing process and material flows, space management, to maximize utilization of the Distribution Centre.

The Person
  • Bachelor of Science / Engineering or relevant qualification.
  • A demonstrated history/experience of people-management, an associated people management qualification would be a distinct advantage.
  • Previous Supply Chain experience gained within a medical device/pharmaceutical environment
  • Strong knowledge of GMP/GDP/FDA regulatory requirements within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Proven track record with working within an AEO and Known consignor accredited facility.
  • Proven track record and hands on experience with SAP S4 Hanna ERP, WMS / IM and TMS systems in general.
  • A strong knowledge of the logistics and distribution industry including an awareness of relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier relationship management within Logistics management in a 3PL environment with a proven knowledge of the International Freight & Contact Logistics business and they key industry players.
